An Austin woman who tested positive for methamphetamine Jan. 5 pleaded not guilty to two drug charges Thursday in Mower County Court.

Corina Amy Sanborn, 30, was charged with fifth-degree drug possession and storing meth in the presence of a child after a search warrant was executed at her residence on the 500 block of East Main Street in Brownsdale.

Sanborn has already received 30 days in jail for violating her probation when she tested positive for meth the day of the search warrant.

Police arrived to find four people in the house, including a 7-month-old baby. According to a criminal complaint, a small plastic bag containing residue was found in Sanborn’s room. The residue tested positive for meth.

Officers also found a glass pipe with residue that test positive for meth. After she was taken into custody, Sanborn was given a urine analysis and tested positive for the drug.

Sanborn told authorities her roommate had been smoking meth in the house and she had asked the roommate to leave the pipe so she could finish smoking it. Sanborn admitted to smoking what was left of the pipe.

Sanborn will appear in court on May 6 for pre-trial and May 16 for jury trial.
