Robert Allen Kiefer, 59, died Friday morning, Jan. 21, in rural Hayfield.
Robert Allen Kiefer was born on Aug. 7, 1951, in Taopi, the son of Emmett and Evelyn (Tews) Kiefer. He attended Sacred Heart Schools in Adams and graduated from Adams High School in 1969.
He farmed with his father until 1976. He married Janette M. Kruger on Oct. 9, 1976, and moved to rural Hayfield where he continued to raise hogs until 1980. He resided at his rural Hayfield home until his death. He was employed at Pace Dairy in Rochester. Robert had a love for his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved fishing, coin collecting, music and movies. His favorite hobby was planting his many flowers and sitting on the deck and enjoying their beauty.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife: Janette Kiefer, Hayfield; four daughters: Shannon Nerby, Hayfield, Holly (John) Miller, Wilson, Minn., Cathy Meaney, Rochester, and Amy (Jeremy) Wolkenhauer, Mantorville. He is also survived by his three beautiful grandchildren: Hannah, Jaden, and David; four siblings: Larry (Joan) Kiefer, Rochester, Linda (Larry) Harvey, Lake City, Leann (Wayne) Ulrich, Blooming Prairie and David (Patti) Kiefer, Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his twin children, Chad and Jennifer.
The funeral mass for Robert Allen Kiefer will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 2nd Street NE in Hayfield with the Rev. William Kulas celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield.
