Lucille Ruth Hertle, 88, of Austin, Minnesota died Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Austin Medical Center.
She was born August 15, 1922, the daughter of Elbert and Corabell (Dorn) Rubel in Austin. She attended school in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1940. On June 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harold M. Hertle in Austin. She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Austin. She enjoyed flower arranging, reading, embroidery and loved her cat, Precious. Harold died March 17, 1993. While living at St. Mark’s Apartments, Lucille adopted the St. Mark’s cat, Buddy. She lived at Carlson Home in Austin for six years before moving to Prairie Manor Care Center on Dec. 31, 2010.
Survivors include her sister, Alice Thorpe of Waseca; brother, George Rubel of Palm Bay, Florida; sister-in-law, Gladys Hertle of Austin; brother-in-law, Paul (Frances) Hertle of Breezy Point and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold and brother, Alvin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. David Fleischmann, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
