A 34-year-old Austin man was arrested Sunday for allegedly attacking another man with a chair leg.

The suspect, who has not been formally charged, reportedly hit a 28-year-old man with a broken-off chair leg during an altercation early Sunday at 1202 Ninth St. N.E. The victim was bleeding heavily but refused medical attention besides receiving gauze pads, according to a police report.

Police found the suspect upstairs at the house passed out, and he appeared drunk. He was verbally offensive to officers when taken away.

According to the report, the suspect also allegedly punched another man, 20, in the nose and was acting wildly, according to witnesses.
