Irene G. Weite, 92, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth with the Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea. Visitation time will be at 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th St. in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com.

Irene was born Jan. 3, 1920, in rural Wells, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Schultz) Mikolai. She was raised and educated in the Wells area where she was a 1938 graduate of Wells High School. She was married to Ruben E. Weite in the late 1940s and the couple made their home in rural Hartland. They resided in Hartland, where Irene was a homemaker, until Ruben’s death in 1968. Irene moved to Albert Lea for over 30 years before moving to Blue Earth in 2006. She enjoyed babysitting, was a great cook and loved to can vegetables from her many gardens. She also raised chickens and sold their eggs for many years.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Corinne (Richard) Johnson of Frost; her son, Kenneth (Marcia) Weite of West Des Moines, Iowa; her son, Paul (Debra) Weite of Staples; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1968; and a granddaughter, Angela Weite.
