Carol J. Dotzenrod, 80, of Austin, Minn. died Friday, March 16, 2012, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

Carol was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Austin, Minn., the daughter of W. J. (Jack) and Gratia (Brown) Fullen. Carol graduated from Austin High School in 1949 and attended the Austin Junior College. She was married to Darrell E. Dotzenrod on December 23, 1950, at Austin, Minn. With Darrell’s job, the Dotzenrods moved several times over the years, residing in Calmar, Iowa, Chatfield, Minn and the Gibbon and New Ulm, Minn. area before returning to Austin. Carol worked in retail sales in the various towns they lived in as well as several stores in the Austin area.

Carol was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in circle and the Questers. She was an animal lover, especially cats and horses. Carol was a member of the American Paint Horse Association where she was twice named to the associations National Amateur Honor Roll and was involved with showing horses for many years.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Joyce Saholt and brother Jack Fullen.

Carol is survived by her husband Darrell Dotzenrod, Austin; daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and James Danhoff, Rock Springs, Wyo., Lisa and Robert Fisher, Los Gatos, Calif; grandchildren Alyson and Matt Logan, Huntley, Ill., Adam Fisher and Matt Fisher, Los Gatos, Calif.; great-granddaughter Reagan Grace Logan; sister Margie (Lloyd) Cox, Marietta, Ga.; sisters-in-law Carol Fullen, St. Paul, Minn., Marilyn Dotzenrod, Plymouth, Mass., Virginia Milton, Austin, and Eileen Lysne, Austin; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Marilee Benson officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Friday, March 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. The family prefers memorials to the First United Methodist Church or to the Mower County Humane Society.

Honorary bearers will be Alyson and Matt Logan. Casket Bearers will be Adam Fisher, Matt Fisher, Douglas Fullen, Mark Fullen, Jordan Lysne and Ryan Lysne.
