The Rev. Gregory Parrott, newly ordained, has been appointed as parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Church, Owatonna, and to provide a pastoral presence at Pacelli High School, Austin effective June 12.
Parrott will be spending one day a week at Pacelli High School. He will be helping with masses, campus ministry and visiting our classrooms.
Parrott is a native of Gaylord, Minn. He attended elementary and high school in Gaylord and Arlington, Minn. before entering Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona. He recently completed a master of arts degree, specializing in moral theology at Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul.
He received the Sacrament of Holy Orders from Bishop John Quinn on May 30 and then celebrated his Mass of Thanksgiving on May 31 at St. Michael Parish in Gaylord (in the Diocese of New Ulm). Besides spending one day a week as Pacelli, Parrot was assigned to Sacred Heart Parish in Owatonna as associate pastor.
“I look forward to serving God faithfully, fulfilling His will in my life,” Parrott said. “I believe and the church has confirmed that I have been called to the priesthood.”
