Bruins win shootout to get a split

The Austin Bruins split a weekend series at Bismarck, N.D., winning 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday and losing 2-0 on Friday.
Austin goalie Eamon McAdam stopped all four shots he saw in Saturday’s shootout, while Cody Hotchkin and Trevor Waldoch netted shootout goals for the Bruins (15-23-3 overall).
The Bobcats (25-14-4 overall) led 4-2 after two periods, but Charlie Adams scored early in the third and Hotchkin scored a powerplay goal with 11 seconds left in regulation on an assist from Adams to force overtime.
Chase McDonald and Jordan Greenberg also scored goals for Austin.
The Bobcats (25-14-4 overall) out-shot Austin 39-32.
Bismarck beat Austin 2-0 on Friday as the Bobcats held a 33-20 shot advantage and scored twice in the second period.
Nikloaj Rosenthal scored both Bismarck goals in a game that saw 15 fighting penalties and two ejections during a second period brawl that involved both goalies.
Keegan Asmundson stopped 23 of the 24 shots he saw and McAdam had eight saves on nine shots for Austin.
