George D. Zahradnik, 76, of Austin, Minn., died Monday, March 26, 2012, at Our House Memory Care in Austin.

He was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Jackson County, Minn., to Rudy and Mary (Zahorsky) Zahradnik. George grew up and attended school in Jackson County. He was a farmer in Jackson County and in the Austin area, where he moved in the early 1950s. George and Kay Eagen were married for 15 years, raising sons Mike and Tom and daughter Peggy before divorcing. George later married Evelyn Naylor, raising a son John. They later divorced. George loved farming and being outside. His occupation brought him a great sense of pride.
Survivors include his daughter Peggy (Bruce) Eckloff of Oronoco, Minn.; two sons, Tom Zahradnik of St. Peter, Minn. and John Zahradnik of Austin, Minn.; one grandson, Joseph; brother David (Doris) Zahradnik of Clear Lake, Iowa; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Mary; son Mike; brother Jim; sister Blanche.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Reverend Shari Mason officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
