Mower County is ranked 46th out of 84 Minnesota counties in terms of overall health according to a report by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

The institute ranks the overall health of counties by using a standard formula to measure how healthy people are and how long they live. The rankings come out annually during National Public Health Week, an opportunity to remind Americans about the importance of public health in their lives.

Mower County was 42nd out of 85 counties in 2011.
