The county could take a small step toward saving money and reworking one of its largest departments Tuesday.

The county board may vote on a plan to restructure part of the Human Services office to save money and improve efficiency.

“Hopefully, it shows the public… we’re looking where we can to save some money,” County Coordinator Craig Oscarson said.

Oscarson said the plan would save money by adjusting the employee structure, which would eventually lead to the reduction of one position through attrition.

In finance, the board will vote on a recommendation to purchase a new tractor to replace current equipment.

In general business, the county will look at approving Cedar River Country Club for a Consumption and Display permit and whether to classify a parcel as non-conservation land. The board will also look at a resolution authorizing an application for a family homeless prevention and assistance program.

The county board meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the county board room.
