Eagles tribute show leaves a positive impression for fans

Being at the Historic Paramount Theatre last Saturday night was amazing.

For those of you who missed it, the event featured two St. Cloud bands, The Fabulous Armadillos and Collective Unconscious, performing their Eagles tribute presentation.

An Eagles fan or not, anyone could have appreciated the talent of the bands, the sensational lights, and the sound quality.

In last week’s article I mentioned the importance of measuring the intrinsic impact of the arts. Saturday’s “Takin’ It to the Limit” concert definitely had an impact. The more than 400 people who were there from Austin and the surrounding region are still talking about the experience.

I am already exploring the possibility of bringing one or both of the bands back next year for another one of their shows.

Saturday night was a perfect example of the uniqueness of attending a live event. That moment can never be completely recreated. I encourage everyone to continue taking chances to see arts events whenever possible. You never know, the experience could create a memory to last a lifetime.

Our next event will be Matchbox Children’s Theatre’s presentation of Baba Yaga and the Black Sunflower April 13 – 14.

I am please to say I will be making my directorial debut with this show. So far it has been a wonderful learning experience that I will never forget. The show would not be happening without the support of some key people including: Madlain Vander, Janet Anderson, Cameron Davis, Paul Burger, Angela Donovan, Brenna Nordeng and the rest of the cast, and everyone else involved in the show.

I would like to thank them all for their hard work and dedication in helping make the show go on. Tickets can be purchased at the Paramount Theatre, Hy-Vee, Sterling Main Street, and before each performance at the Paramount Ticket Office.
