A small gas leak was reported Friday around 8:30 a.m. on Second Street NE near the new jail and justice center.

A worker hit a gas main with a construction vehicle, Austin Utilities General Manager Jerry McCarthy said, and a fire truck was dispatched. The area was secured shortly thereafter, McCarthy said. No fire started and there was no reported injuries.
