Austin Medical Center officials have scheduled a press conference today to discuss its expansion, which was approved at the end of last week.

The $28 million expansion was approved by the Mayo Clinic Board of Governors. AMC officials say the plan is expected to include a 86,500 square foot addition to its current facility.

Construction is going is expected to start this summer.
