The stretch of Oakland Avenue between First Street and Fourth Street is scheduled to reopen Thursday.

Construction on Oakland began last summer and involved the demolition of three bridges between First and Fourth streets, as well as filling and grading of that portion of Oakland.

City engineer Jon Erichson said the project turned out quite well. A ribbon cutting will be held Thursday, weather permitting.
