Richard Allan McGinley, 73, died at Rochester Methodist Hospital on April 10, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.

Richard Allan McGinley was born on Aug. 10, 1938, to Leonard and Gladys (Muntean) McGinley in Kasson, Minn. He attended schools in Dodge Center, Byron and Plainview. He was united in marriage to Judy Parker on Oct. 2, 1964. Richard worked at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa; Owatonna Canning Company in Owatonna, Minn.; farming for Marlo Brenke, in Rochester, Minn.; Melvin Blatti in Mantorville, Minn.; and Hutton Farms in Blooming Prairie, Minn. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great granddaughter. His hobbies included mowing grass, planting flowers, and taking his dog, Peewee, for rides in the car. A special thank you to Ron Gilbertson of Hayfield, Minn. for all of his help.

Richard is survived by his wife, Judy McGinley, Hayfield; three daughters, Debbie Parker, Hayfield, Julie Rislov-Hendrickson (Merle) Hendrickson, Dodge Center, Minn, Jeanette (Rick) Stockman, Preston, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Michael, Cory, Jacob, and Joseph Rislov, Michelle Lecy and Jason Stockman, Brandon Hare, Cameron Gwilt, and Landon Parker; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Lecy; siblings, Ronald McGinley, Waterloo, Donna Mae (James) Capelle, Waterloo, Darlene (Gary) Peterson, Rochester, Roger (Cheryl) McGinley, Harmony, Minn., Debbie McGinley, Owatonna, and Leonard McGinley, Jr., Kasson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randy.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home at 501 Second St. NW in Hayfield with the Rev Paul Hauschild officiating.
