Arnold D. Boyenga, 68, of Austin, Minn. died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at his home in Austin.

He was born Dec. 18, 1943, in Austin to Anton and Marjorie (Thompson) Boyenga. Mr. Boyenga attended Austin Public Schools, graduating from Austin High School in 1962. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1966. On Sept. 28, 1970, Arnold and Mary L. Rice were united in marriage at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin. The couple had three children. A member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Arnold was a man who loved to work, especially in the garage and also doing redecorating projects. His family always came first. He enjoyed watching movies, particularly Westerns. He also enjoyed golf. After working as a truck driver for 30 years, Arnold retired in December 2010.

Survivors include his wife Mary Boyenga of Austin; daughter Sue (Darren) Thomas of Austin; sons Scott Boyenga of Austin and Skipp (Kim) Boyenga of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren, Evan Thomas, Nathan Toney, JaMar Salisbury, Jackson Boyenga; sister Linda (Wayne) Wollenburg, Austin; brother Edward (Lona) Boyenga, Austin; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Marjorie, and one brother, Tony.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin with the Rev. Michael Olmsted officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Post No. 91 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1216.
