Packer tennis team tops Albert Lea

ALBERT LEA — The Austin boys tennis team won its season opener 5-2 in Albert Lea Thursday.

Freshman Colton Detwiler and Jeremy Olmsted picked up their first career wins in singles for the Packers (1-0 overall, 1-0 Big Nine).

“We’ve got a young team this year, so this was a good win for us,” Austin head coach Tommy Tauchnitz said.

Austin juniors Pat Wagner and Bob Sherman won the top two singles matches.
