Greyhounds fall to Miesville

Not enough defense and not enough clutch hits caught up to the Greyhounds in a 9-1 loss at Miesville Wednesday in an amateur baseball game.

Austin (3-6 overall) committed six errors and seven of Miesville’s runs were unearned and the Hounds hit into four double plays.

“If we make a play or two, a lot of those runs don’t happen,” Austin manager John Frein said. “We also had too many rally killers.”

The Hounds will host the Blue Sox Friday at 8 p.m.

The game will serve as a promotional night for baseball and there will be activities, prizes and kids games.

Paul Pruitt will serve as the M.C. and Taylor Carlson will sing the National Anthem and a tribute to veterans.
