The two state qualifying Packer swimmers finished the Class ‘A’ meet with solid efforts at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis Saturday.

Austin senior Michael Thorsheim took eighth place in the 200-yard individual medley finals with a time of 2:05.01.

Mike Hurley of Fergus Falls broke a state record in winning the event as he swam it in 1:49.20.

Austin sophomore Nick Brehmer took ninth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.43 and he was 16th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.01 seconds.
