One Austin man went to the hospital Wednesday while another was cited for failing to yield after a car accident in the city.
Nicholas Hummel-Pirmantgen, 20, had to be extricated from a 1996 Nissan Sentra after it and a Jeep Cherokee collided at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Seventh Street southeast at around 3:30 p.m., according to a police report.
Hummel-Pirmantgen, who was the car’s passenger, was taken to the Austin Medical Center.
As of Thursday morning, Hummel-Pirmantgen is still at the hospital but in stable condition, an AMC spokeswoman said. What types of injuries he sustained and where was not released.
The car’s driver, 18-year-old Lance Eastman, was cited for failing to yield as he attempted to turn onto Seventh Street in front of the oncoming Jeep. The second car, which was driven by Laura Beckel, 34, of Hollandale, and headed east on Eighth Avenue, hit the passenger side of the Sentra.
Eastman and Beckel were not hurt, according to the report. The damage to the two vehicles was not specified.
