Crystal B. Peterson, 81, Twin Lakes

The funeral service for Crystal B. Peterson of Twin Lakes will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Glenville. The Rev. James Rushton will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville.
Crystal died Monday, April 23, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. She was 81 years old.
Crystal was born in Northwood, Iowa, on April 5, 1931, the daughter of Julius and Ruby (Peterson) Hauge. She graduated from Northwood High School. Crystal was married to Palmer Peterson on Feb. 1, 1952, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Glenville and also was in the church circle group. Crystal worked for Schulties Convenience Store in Albert Lea and later worked for 19 years baking pies for Trumbles Restaurant. Crystal was known for her wonderful pies. She enjoyed making lefse, gardening, fishing, embroidering and spending time with family and friends.
Crystal is survived by her husband of 60 years, Palmer of Twin Lakes; sons: Gary (Linda) Peterson of Hayward and Darwin (Sandra) Peterson of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Nicole Peterson, Justin Peterson and Ryan Sundve (Nicole); sisters: Arlene Knaack of Glenville, Mavis (Elton) Beighley of Gordonsville and Mary Ann (Marvin) Thompson of Glenville; brothers: Duane (Sharon) Hauge of Glenville and Laverne (Darlene) Hauge of Glenville; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her in-laws: Phyllis Cordera of Chicago, Marjorie Grigutis of Chicago, Dorothy Dempewolf of Denver, Genevieve Kirsch of Albert Lea, Arnold Peterson of Deer Creek, Gordon (Linda) Peterson of Northwood, Iowa, Lemoine (Pat) Peterson of Hastings, Gaylord (Darlene) Peterson of Albert Lea, Norman (Connie) Peterson of Albert Lea and Jim Christensen of Farmington.
Crystal was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jerome (Evelyn) Hauge; brother in infancy; in-laws: Rena Christensen, Harlan (Julia), Arthur and Maynard (Maxine) Peterson, Loretta (Kenton) Nelson, Richard Knaack, Belean Johnson, Bud Cordera, Ed Grigutis, John Kirsch, John Dempewolf.
