MABEL — After winning their first four games against Mabel-Canton, the Lyle-Pacelli baseball team finally let one slip against the Cougars (2-5 overall, 2-5 SEC) as they lost 5-4 in Mabel Tuesday.

The Athletics (6-2 overall, 4-1 SEC) stranded 12 runners on base and they trailed 5-1 after two innings.

“It was a good learning point for the kids,” LP head coach Brock Meyer said. “It’s hard to beat a team four times and hopefully this is a stepping stone for us.”
