Austin Police are looking for a young man who allegedly entered an area home on Friday and may have attempted to steal things.

According to the police report, the victim said he arrived at his home in northwest Austin at 12:20 p.m. Friday and met a man standing in his kitchen. The victim chased the boy for two blocks before he escaped. According to the police report, the homeowner said his house was unlocked at the time. The suspect is about 5-foot-10-inch with brown hair and was wearing a hoodie and hat. The homeowner mentioned that he noticed no stolen items.

The case has been forwarded to detectives. Police Chief Brian Krueger said this case is another example why people should lock their doors, even if they only briefly leave their homes.
