An Austin man who allegedly threatened a woman with a gun in October pleaded guilty to terroristic threats in a separate case Monday.
Olayi Oman Oman, 33, pleaded guilty to the felony terroristic threats charge in exchange for three other charges being dismissed. The dismissed charges include two counts of tampering with a witness and violating a no contact order.
According to a court complaint, Oman threatened a woman over the phone on March 2, saying he was going to come to her house at midnight to kill her. He also allegedly went to the woman’s house while she was gone and interacted with a juvenile resident.
When police questioned him, Oman denied calling the woman or visiting her home.
Oman was arrested in October for felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, felony terroristic threats, felony domestic assault by strangulation, gross misdemeanor carrying a pistol without a permit and gross misdemeanor interfering with a 911 call.
He will be sentenced in the most recent case on June 3.
