Hannah Hartgrave, 91, of Austin, Minn. died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minn.

Hannah VanLengen was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Kesley, Iowa to John and Dena (Conraads) VanLengen. She attended school in Shell Rock, Iowa. On Aug. 21, 1937, Hannah and Charlie Hartgrave were united in marriage in Shell Rock. Together the couple had three children. They spent their married life in Shell Rock and Austin. Charlie passed away in 2002. Hannah worked in catering and was member of the wait staff at the Hormel cabin. A longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin, Hannah loved traveling, bingo, catering at the Hormel cabin, and taking trips up north fishing. She made delicious Christmas cookies.

Survivors include two daughters, Hazel Salisbury of Mankato, Minn. and Char Clark of Austin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Johnny VanLengen of Janesville, Iowa; one sister, Grace Knapp of Shell Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dena; her husband Charles; her son Chuck; five brothers; three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin, with Pastor Brian Krueger officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
