Vikings softball team wins second straight game

HAYFIELD — The Hayfield softball team picked up its second straight win when it beat Goodhue (4-8 overall) 14-4 in five innings in Hayfield Tuesday.

Hayfield sophomore Alyssa Monahan made her first pitching start of her career, and after giving up a homerun on the first pitch of the game and allowing three runs in the second inning, she shut down the Wildcats.

Dani Wagner was three-for-three with 2 RBIs for the Vikings (5-9 overall).
