A 13-year-old girl has been cited for driving with no license and leaving the scene of an accident after she crashed the SUV she was driving Wednesday morning.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said police found an abandoned SUV crashed into a fence in the 1100 block of Fifth Place Northeast and, after some investigation, discovered two 13-year-old girls and one 14-year-old girl had occupied the vehicle.

One of the girls admitted to driving the vehicle after police questioned her.

There were no injuries in the crash, but the SUV caused damage to Austin Utilities property as a result of the accident.

Krueger would not comment on who owns the vehicle.
