Dale Leon Fodness, 65, died May 3, 2012.

Dale was born April 29, 1947, in Staples, Minn., to Marvin and Pearl Fodness. The family moved to Austin, Minn., where Dale graduated from Austin High School in 1965. He enlisted in the Marines in 1966 and served in Vietnam until 1970. After an honorable discharge, Dale went to work as a union carpenter for more than 40 years.

He married Judy Loewen in 1973, and later moved to Apache Junction, Ariz. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and fishing.

Dale is survived by family members in Arizona, including his wife, Judy; sons, Jason and Joshua; daughter, Cindy Shafer; stepson, Eric Marks; brothers, David Fodness of Austin and Robin (Georgia) of Texas; sister, Jackie (Fodness) Allen of Wisconsin; stepbrothers, Merlin (Pat) Kingen of Arizona and Nathan (Carol) Kingen of Texas; stepsisters, Karen (Bert) Kingen Bridgeman of Austin and Judy Kingen of Austin.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother and father; step-sisters Dorthy Kingen and Pat Krulish; and step-brother Robert Kingen.
