Marian Yezek

Marian Jeanette Yezek, 90, of Austin, died at Our House Memory Care Thursday morning, March 24, 2011.

Marian was born Sept. 19, 1920, the daughter of Peter William “Willy” and Ada (Guttormson) Williamson on a farm near Corning, Minn. She married Ralph Unger on Oct. 27, 1939, in Kasson.

The couple had three children and were later divorced. Marian married Leo Yezek on Sept. 27, 1956, in Mantorville. She enjoyed traveling with him to bowling tournaments. She worked at Libby’s in Rochester for several years. Leo died Aug. 17, 1986.

A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and Mower County Senior Center, Marian enjoyed doing crafts. She loved cats and adopted many.

Survivors include daughter: Darlene (Gordon) Ring, Minneapolis; son: Joseph (Kim) Yezek, LaCrosse, Wis.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: James (Sonja) Williamson, Austin; Loren (Georgette) Williamson,f Cottage Grove; sister: Inez Spitzack, Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ralph Unger and Leo Yezek; two sons, Glen and Loren Unger; six brothers, Nordeen, Roger, Johnny, Gerald, Osmer and William; four sisters, Lena, Emma, Cora and Ardell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with The Rev. Dr. Stephen DeFor officiating. Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manly, Iowa. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
