ROCHESTER — The main terminal at the Rochester International Airport has been evacuated after a suspicious package was found by a Transportation Security Administration officer.
Airport manager Steve Leqve said the suitcase was found Wednesday afternoon in the checked luggage area of the building.
He said the suitcase remains in the airport. A bomb squad from the Twin Cities is on the way to check it out, but Leqve said he expects everything is going to turn out fine.
The terminal was evacuated around 4:30 p.m., with people on outgoing flights taken to a building on the airport property. Incoming flights are being diverted until the situation is resolved.
