The first steak cookout fundraiser of the season is coming soon for Austin Izaak Walton League Chapter No. 10.

The fundraiser will take place Wednesday at the Ikes Cabin, Todd Park. Serving begins at 5:45 p.m.

The menu will include a 12-ounce sirloin steak, baked potato, coleslaw, bun and fresh vegetables.

Steak cookouts are the main fundraising events for Ikes Chapter No. 10.

Other steak cookouts will be held June 17, July 22, Sept. 16 and Oct. 7.

There will not be a cookout in August, when the Ikes operate the fish and game building at the 2009 Mower County Fair.

Funds raised at the cookouts go to conservation and environmental education for area students.

Tickets for the Wednesday steak cookout fundraiser will be available at the door or in advance from any Ikes Chapter No. 10 member.

The organization is a non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to conserve, maintain, protect and restore all soils, waters, wildlife and other natural resources.
