A then 22-year-old man accused of forcefully molesting a 50-year-old woman in her home on Aug. 10 was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony.
Ainstain Jim, now 23, was sentenced to 10 years’ supervised probation, must complete sex offender treatment and disclose the offense and sexual history to significant others. A Mower County judge also ordered Jim to serve 45 days in jail for a disorderly conduct that happened in January.
The victim told officers Jim came to her door and forced his way into her house, grabbed her and told her they were going to have sex. According to the court complaint, the woman repeatedly told him “no,” but Jim picked her up and carried her into the bedroom.
The woman told police Jim tried to take off her pants as she kept trying to get him to stop. The woman said she eventually escaped his grasp and ran outside, where two of Jim’s friends were reportedly waiting for him in a car.
The witnesses said Jim had a couple of alcoholic drinks but seemed “normal.”
Jim eventually admitted to the allegations. A second charge, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, was dismissed.
