FARIBAULT — The Blooming Prairie boys and girls each took first the Subsection 1A meet at the Legacy Golf Course in Faribault Monday.

The Awesome Blossoms boys shot a team score of 331 and Victor Peterson led the entire field with a 76.

The BP girls shot a 395 and Anna Noble led them with a 90.

Hayfield’s boys, who shot a 360, and girls, who shot a 411, each finished second as Brady Becker led the boys with an 80 and Samantha Dahlen and Kasey Dahlen each shot a 99 for the girls.

The BP and Hayfield boys and girls will each advance to the Section 1A meet, which will be held May 29 at Cedar River Golf Course in Adams at 9 a.m.

In the boys meet, Lyle-Pacelli’s Spencer Holtorf, Max Brennan and Thomas Marx advanced to the section meet individually, along with Southland’s Ben Wolterman and Marcus Johnson and Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander’s Mitchell Gerber and Tyler Sloan.

In the girls meet, LP’s Jennie Marx, Abby Leif and Maggie Leif advanced individually, along with Southland’s Megan Harvey and Cassidy Reinhartz and GMLO’s Kaitlin Kling, who had the best girls’ score of the day with an 87.

It is the first time Southland has had two girls qualify for the section meet.

In the boys meet, GMLO finished third with a 361, LP shot a 378 and took fourth and Southland finished sixth with a 388.

In the girls meet, Southland took fourth with a 468 and LP took fifth with a 454.
