The only suspense in Lyle/Pacelli’s 8-1 win over Schaeffer Academy was whether or not Cody Meyer could get a no-hitter Monday at Marcusen Park.

Schaeffer finally got a hit in the sixth, but it didn’t damper a dominant performance by Meyer, who struck out 18 while allowing just one hit and two walks.

“Cody had very good control today and they struggled with his fast ball,” L/P head coach Steve Baumann said.

Meyer also had an inside the park home run and a double for L/P (6-7 overall).
