RANDOLPH — The Blooming Prairie baseball team couldn’t hold on to a comeback as it lost 7-6 to No. 3 Randolph (6-13 overall) in the first round of the Section 1A West Division baseball tournament on the road Tuesday.
The No. 6 seeded Awesome Blossoms (5-14 overall) scored six runs in the top of the seventh as Isaiah Toquam had a two-run single and Tyler Anderson drew a bases loaded walk to give BP the lead. BP drew a total of seven walks in the frame.
“We were just taking pitches and their pitchers were struggling,” BP head coach Paul Peterson said.
The Rockets answered back in the bottom of the seventh when Cole Tix knocked in two runs with a one out single up the middle to end BP’s season.
BP had just two hits off Randolph pitcher Nick McIntee and McIntee added two homers and a double of his own at the plate.
