Loretta Barr, 89, of Austin died April 13, 2011, at Sacred Heart Care Center after a brief illness.

Loretta was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Leroy. She moved to Austin and graduated from Austin High School. She married Charles Barr in 1942 prior to his deployment to Europe during the war. She enjoyed sports and spending time with friends and especially her sister, Sylvia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles.

Loretta is survived by her sons, John Barr of South Yarmouth, Mass., William Barr of Bella Vista, Ark.; sister, Sylvia Johnson of Austin, and niece Gloria Payne of Red Wing.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
