Florence Catherine Stephani, 91, of Austin, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the Austin Medical Center.

Florence was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Waseca, Minn., to Joseph and Elizabeth (Krupp) Vogt. She went to school in Adams. On June 22, 1937, she was united in marriage to Alfred J. Stephani at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Quilters Club, volunteer at Sacred Heart Care Center and Austin Medical Center, Church Unit and funeral committee. Florence enjoyed needlework (embroidery, crochet and quiliting), reading, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include nine children, Joseph (Sharon) Stephani of Pine City, Juanita Joyce of Plymouth, Mary (Al) Woessner of Byron, Veronica (Mike) Fiest of Marinette, Wis., Patricia (Gary) Goodmanson of Urbandale, Iowa, Theresa (Mark) Murphy, Kissimmee, Fla., Sharon (Larry) Houff of Maple Grove, John (Judith) Stephani of Eagan, James (Wendy) Stephani of Owatonna; two daughters-in-law, Kathleen Stephani of Minnetonka, Carol Stephani of Glendale, Ariz.; 32 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard (Evelyn) Vogt of Rose Creek, Clement (Katherine) Vogt of Fairchild, Wis.; sister, Sr. Joseen Vogt of Rochester.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred on Feb. 19, 1981; sons, Duane and Sylvan; son-in-law, Robert Joyce; grandson, Neil Woessner; great grandson, Daschel Joyce.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 5 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6 p.m. wake service on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Queen of Angels Catholic Church, MS Society, ALS Association or donor’s choice.
