The Hayfield baseball team smashed 17 hits in a 13-3 win over Byron in Hayfield Thursday.
The Vikings (4-4 overall) scored six runs in the first and never looked back.
“In our last game against Kasson, we were flat. All day in practice yesterday all we talked about was if start flat, you’re gonna finish flat,” Hayfield head coach Craig Selk said.
Tyler Krekling made his return to the mound for Hayfield after getting hit with a line drive in his last start. He struck out five while allowing three runs in six innings of work.
“He was a little tentative at first but the longer he was in, the stronger he got,” Selk said.
