Albert Lea edges Austin girls golf team

The Austin girls golf team dropped a dual against Albert Lea 383-388 at Austin Country Club Tuesday.
Catherine Wagner took home the meet medal as she shot an 85. No other golfer shot in the 80s on the day.
Natalie Swan shot a 96 for Austin, Alex Larson had a 98, Kelsey Stough had a 109, Lauren Stasi shot a 110, and Lauren Schwab had a 117.
“The wind played a factor in the girls’ strategies and shots,” Austin head coach Carissa Gabrielson said. “Overall, I think all the girls feel as if they could have done better. We will be working on our course management skills over the next few days.”
On Saturday, the Packers took fourth at the Hayfield Invite with a team score of 377.
Wagner finished fourth overall with an 86, while Stough (with a 94) and Stasi (with a 95) each had career varsity low scores. Swan shot a 102.
