Academic achievements

—David Koser and Erin Mittag, of Austin, were recognized for academic achievement at St. Olaf College’s annual Honors Day convocation on May 4.

—Shelly Schultz, of Austin, was inducted into the Zeta Eta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Riverland Community College.

U of M dean’s list

—Anna Anderson, Callie Burton, and Gage Morgan, of Austin, were named to the University of Minnesota-Duluth dean’s list for spring 2012.

Minn. State College Southeast Technical College graduation

—Logan Goskesen, Kelly Longueville, Kourtney Shaw, of Austin; and Rachel Ament, of Grand Meadow, graduated from Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical College Winona in spring 2012. Goskesen earned an associate’s degree in applied science, industrial technology. Longueville earned a diploma in practical nursing. Shaw earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice. Ament earned a certificate for a health unit coordinator.

South Central College graduations

—Tyler Bentzin and Garrett Losee, of Austin; Lucas Schaefer, of Taopi; and Zachary Jax, of Waltham, graduated from South Central College in spring 2012. Bentzin earned a diploma in HVAC systems. Losee earned a diploma as an agribusiness service technician. Schaefer earned a diploma in agribusiness production. Jax eared an associate’s degree in the agribusiness service technician program.

Iowa State dean’s lists

—Meredith Aubrey Molhusen, Lauren Ann Nelson, and Ryan William Rasell, of Austin; and Molly Elizabeth Frank, of Dexter, were named to the Iowa State University dean’s list for spring 2012.

U of M — Moorhead dean’s list

—Brooke Johnson and Benjamin Meyer, of Austin, and Erin Johnson, of Blooming Prairie, were named to the Minnesota State University-Moorhead dean’s list for spring 2012.

Kirkwood Community College dean’s list

—Erik Hurley, of Grand Meadow, was named to the Kirkwood Community College spring dean’s list.

Graduations

—Daniel Justice, of Austin, graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout in May. Justice earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology.

—Melissa Petersen, of Austin, participated in St. Catherine University’s spring commencement ceremony held Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, 20 in St. Paul, Minn.

—Andrew Buchan, of Austin, graduated from Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical Red Wing in spring 2012. Buchan earned a certificate in electric guitar building and a diploma in guitar repair and building.

—Alexandra Rausch, of Austin, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in spring 2012.
