Senior center schedules clinics

Defensive driving instruction, eye care advice, hearing aid maintenance and lessons on being a good advocate for loved ones are all offered at the Mower County Senior Center.
Jean Patzner Mueller, an advocate ombudsman, will be a special guest Tuesday, April 28 at the Mower County Senior Center.
Patzner-Mueller will describe how one can be a good advocate for loved one in nursing homes. The session begins at 5:30 p.m. in the main dining room. She will describe residents’ rights in nursing homes, suggest questions to ask about a loved one’s care and other topics regarding nursing home life. The session is free to the public.
Another wellness clinic is scheduled May 14 at the senior center.
There will be free hand or chair massages beginning at 1:30 p.m. Also that day, there will be a free hearing aid clinic, beginning at 3:15 p.m. Cleaning and checking hearing aids will be featured.
The senior center will also host a free eye care clinic May 19. The session begins at 1 p.m. in the lobby. Eye glasses will be cleaned and adjusted free of charge.
Another defensive driving course will be offered May 27, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $16 for senior center members and $19 for non-members. Successful completion of the four-hour defensive driving course is needed for auto insurance discounts.
