Two teens have been charged in connection with a string of burglaries in several towns in Minnesota and northern Iowa.

Justin Roberts of Wells and Lee Huston of Alden, both 18, were arrested outside Corky’s Corner in Adams in the early morning of April 7 by Mower County Sheriff’s deputy Sgt. Jeff Ellis.

According to police, Ellis responded to a house fire in LeRoy when the two subjects, riding in a silver car, approached Ellis and asked for directions to Rochester, explaining they were lost.

Later, while responding to another call, Ellis observed the suspects outside Corky’s with the hood up and trunk and driver’s side door opened.

Ellis observed a pry bar on the ground and questioned the men, finding that their stories didn’t match and after a search of the vehicle found cigarettes and DVDs in the trunk.

The two men were then taken into custody.

Both have a criminal history.

Roberts was convicted as a juvenile in Faribault County of felony theft and first-degree burglary with a dangerous weapon.

Since 2007, Huston has been convicted in Faribault County of delinquency felonies in several separate incidents, including fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and aiding an offender.

According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects were responsible for burglaries at businesses in Luverne, Kiester, Ellendale, Wells, New Richland, Waldorf and St. Claire, Minnesota; and Northland, Forest City, Hickock, Lime Springs, Garner, Lake Mills and several little towns in Worth County, Iowa.
