Another one-run win, another hero.
For the third straight game, the Blooming Praire baseball team won by the slimmest of margins as they edged out USC 9-8 on the road Tuesday.
This time it was junior outfielder Justen Ingvalson delivering the deciding hit when he slapped a two-run singleto give BP (5-0 overall, 3-0 Gopher) the lead for good in the top of the seventh inning.
Israel Clark closed things out after giving up one run in the bottom of the seventh. While USC (2-1 overall) had a runner on second with one out, Clark got a strikeout and forced a lineout to get out of the jam.
“I think we’ve learned a lot about ourselves in the last three games,” BP head coach Chris Staloch said. “And it’s nice that different kids keep stepping up for us.”
