A fire at a LeRoy home late Monday night was ruled accidental Tuesday by the state fire marshal.
According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office, the state fire marshal found evidence that pointed to an electrical fire that started in the attic of the home at 211 Luella St. in LeRoy.
At the time of the fire, home owner Jeffrey Harden, 42, of Lime Springs, Iowa, said he didn’t think there was electricity upstairs and was running power from the downstairs earlier in the day to work on renovations to the home.
There was extensive damage to the home, but no one was injured.
