The Austin softball team lost a pair of games in a doubleheader at Rochester John Marshall (11-1 overall, 9-0 Big Nine) by scores of 8-0 and 9-5 Tuesday.

“JM’s a good team and they hit the ball well,” Austin head coach Tina Strauss said.

The Packers (5-10 overall, 5-7 Big Nine) struggled to find their offense until the sixth inning of the nightcap, when their first six hitters came up with hits and they posted four runs.

“That was huge for us and we really pulled the bats back,” Strauss said. “If we could play like that every inning, we’d be unstoppable.”
