The Riverland baseball team got over it’s offensive struggles in a two-game sweep that saw them beat Carleton College 14-5 and 14-4 in Northfield Monday.

The Blue Devils (14-5 overall) amassed 27 hits, including two homers by Chris Lindemann and one bomb by Kyle Starkey.

“We had a little hitting practice last night and the wind was blowing out for us,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “Hopefully this will get us back on track.”

Things started on a high note in the first game when Riverland had nine straight hitters come through after the first two batters of the first inning were retired.

Southland grad Kody Retterath hit a two-out, three-run double in the first game.
