Police spokesman Howie Padilla says witnesses indicated the driver of the SUV was speeding when he tried to turn left and misjudged the corner.

Student Anthony Williams says he saw the SUV run over a hydrant and cross the street onto a sidewalk where the driver got out but the SUV kept moving and hit Grime.
