A mother and adult son were taken into custody early Thursday morning for allegedly possessing crack cocaine for sale.
According to the Austin Police Department, members of the Austin Police department, Mower County Sheriff’s Department and the Southeastern Minnesota Narcotics Gang Taskforce converged on a home at 1106 10th Ave. S.W. at approximately 7:01 a.m. Thursday and executed a search warrant.
Inside they found 12 rocks of crack cocaine estimated at 5.51 grams and bagged for sale along with $1,058. Both the mother, 43, and her son, 26, were then arrested and are held pending charges.
The case has been forwarded onto the county attorney’s office as well as the Department of Corrections because of the mother violating pretrial release conditions in another narcotics case. She also has prior convictions on drug related charges.
Both were taken into custody without incident.
