Funeral services for Vickie Marie Paulson, age 63, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012, at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Allan Stoa will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Vickie Paulson

Vickie died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, Friday, July 13, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Vickie Marie Paulson was born on Nov. 28, 1948, to Earl and Helen (Andersen) Sydnes. She grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Vickie was united in marriage to Gerald Paulson on March 5, 1976, at First Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Albert Lea, and Vickie worked at the Eagles Club as a bartender. Vickie also did many volunteer activities at the Eagles. She was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Vickie enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends, fishing and talking on the phone with her friends. She liked going to the casino and spending time with her dog Casey. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald; children, Kristie Lau and Doug (Kristal) Paulson; grandchildren, Karissa Lau, Dennis Lau and Brooke Paulson; brother, Richard (Sheryl) Sydnes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herb (Jeanette) Paulson, Dave (Kay) Paulson, Steve (Carol) Paulson, Mary (Dave) Braaten and Ruth (Jon) Breuer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.

Vickie was preceded in death by her son, Justin Paulson; parents, Earl and Helen Sydnes; mother and father-in-law, Luther and Elsie Paulson; and several extended family members.
